GF "Mac Attack"

This is inspired by a former co-worker who posts the orginal version of this which is topped with puff pastry. Le sigh. So I created this play on the one she makes. It's a winner for the whole family

1 lb ground beef/turkey

3 tbsp onion, diced

1 tbsp garlic, minced (about 6 cloves)

1 tbsp worcestershire sauce

½ cup of shredded cheddar cheese

4-5 slices American cheese

Sesame seeds

15-20 pickle slices

1 cup Mac sauce (thousand island or Russian dressing)

Shredded lettuce or cabbage

Preheat oven 425°

Sautée onion and garlic and add ground meat in a pan. Once browned, drain fat and put into an oven safe casserole dish. Mix in half of the dressing, worcestershire and shredded cheese. Place pickle slices even around the top. Then top with cheese slices and fill in areas not covered with remaining shredded cheese. Sprinkle on Sesame seeds. Bake for 20 minutes or until cheese starts to brown.

While baking, mix some dressing with the shredded lettuce/cabbage.

Serve meat over dressed lettuce/ cabbage mixture and drizzle more dressing over the top.

Serves 4 (kid friendly)
